So that’s where I currently am: Trying to install on safe mode gives me the VC++ runtime redistributable package 1601 error, and trying to install not on safe mode tells me I’m not an administrator which I am.The "script call failed" error has been an issue for players that enjoy using unofficial mods in their games for some time now. I tried completely deleting all of these files and redownloading them from Microsoft’s website and replacing them. I then tried installing in safe mode and not in safe mode to the same results.

I tried repairing the existing vcredist_圆4 and x86.exe files in both the vc2013 and vc2010sp1 folders in the _Installer folder of the Sims 4 files. Please adjust your permissions and try again.”Īfter googling the VC++ runtime redistributable package problem, I have tried everything I found. Trying to install not on safe mode gave me this message: “You need to be logged in as an administrator in order to continue. However, when it had finished downloading, the installation failed after a few seconds with an error about the VC++ runtime redistributable package. Fortunately, this seemed to work as the game downloaded. Running as Administrator did not help.Ī suggestion online was to run the computer in Safe Mode with Network and try to download the game.

I was not receiving these prompts even though my User Account Control Settings were set to the highest. Then when I tried to download a game an error came up saying that I had to click yes when asked for permission to download a game.

I created a folder where it was trying to install games and made that the new destination folder for any games. So when I tried to download any game onto my computer on Origin, I got a message saying the folder location was invalid, only to find that the folder it was trying to install games to did not exist. I’m going to put everything I have tried into this post so it may be quite long so I’m sorry but also would be very pleased if someone can help. I have spent the better half of today trying to install The Sims 4 on Origin to no avail and would greatly appreciate some help and suggestions.
